Instantiations was acquired by Digitalk, Inc. Key Instantiations personnel became leaders in the design, development, and marketing of Digitalk’s Visual Smalltalk Enterprise (VSE) product line. Digitalk was a major partner of IBM in the creation and marketing of Smalltalk technology.
Co-founders of Instantiations founded ObjectShare Systems, a major Smalltalk product vendor and creator of WindowBuilder Pro.
Digitalk was acquired by ParcPlace and ParcPlace-Digitalk was formed. ParcPlace-Digitalk, with major contributions from current Instantiations employees, developed and marketed VisualWorks Smalltalk.
ObjectShare Systems was acquired by ParcPlace-Digitalk.
Instantiations Inc. (second incarnation) was formed by the Tektronix/ Instantiations/ ObjectShare team. The company has offered products and services to the Smalltalk industry since its inception.
Released VA Assist Pro for VisualAge Smalltalk (the most popular add-on product ever produced for VisualAge Smalltalk).
Used VisualAge Smalltalk to create VA Assist for VisualAge Java (the most popular VA Java add-on ever created and winner of IBM's Global Solutions Excellence award).
Assumed support responsibilities for IBM VisualAge Smalltalk.
Acquired worldwide rights to the IBM VisualAge Smalltalk product, enhanced product functionality, and now offer the Instantiations-branded VA Smalltalk product.
