Packaging is the process by which you make your server application deployable on a target platform.

In this part of the book you will learn the following:

•The steps involved in packaging your server application;

•How to create and manage packaging instructions for your server application;

•How to create a single reduced runtime image in the passive image;

•How to create one or more image components (ICs) in a passive image.

Before you start the packaging process, prepare your server application by

•Making sure your project loads without errors into a clean image.

If the application won’t load, the packaging won’t succeed.
