DDE Client events
conversationTerminated
The conversationTerminated event signals that the DDE conversation was ended by the server.
conversationTimedOut
The conversationTimedOut event signals that the DDE conversation has timed out based on the value of the timeOut attribute.
databaseRecords
An event of databaseRecords indicates that the records with the item and format specifications, that define the public interface, for the part have changed.
debugInformation
An event of debugInformation signals a change in which window handles are involved in the connection used by the part.
destroyedPart
The destroyedPart event signals that the part and its children have been destroyed. Any system resources associated with the destroyed parts have been released.
executeFailed
The executeFailed event signals that the execute action was not successful. The execute actions do not succeed if the server cannot perform the requested command string.
lastConnectError
A lastConnectError event indicates a change in the last error that occurred when attempting to connect to the server.
lastLinkError
A lastLinkError event indicates a change in the string that describes the last error that occurred when the server ends the link.
self
A self event indicates that the value of the target part itself has changed.
serverName
A serverName event signals a change in the server that the DDE part communicates with. The server name is usually, but not always, the actual name of the server application.
startProgramInput
A startProgramInput event indicates a change in the command line parameter you want to send to the application that the client part is trying to start.
startProgramName
A startProgramName event signals a change in the name of the program, including the path and any file extension, you want to start.
startProgramTimeOut
A startProgramTimeOut event signals a change in the maximum amount of time, in milliseconds, that the DDE Client application waits before assuming the DDE server application cannot be started.
startServerExecuteString
A startServerExecuteString event indicates a change in the command you want to send to the server before a connection is attempted.
startServerTestCount
A startServerTestCount event signals a change in the number of attempts the client part makes to see if the server application started during the time-out interval specified on the startProgramTimeOut attribute.
timeOut
A timeOut event indicates a change in the maximum amount of time, in milliseconds, that any request is allowed to take. The default is 1000 milliseconds (one second).
topic
A topic event signals a change in the value of items provided by the server for a particular item with the format specified.
